    GTX 970 Fake

So, Nivida told people GTX 970 would have 4gb vram while it only has 3,5 gb vram useable at full speed 224gb/sec.

According to benchmarks its still better than a R9 290x but how will shit work out in future with the less 0,5 gb vram? I think it wont matter for me since i will only play 1080p but meh this is shit. I dont want to buy AMD card cuz power consumption is nearly doubled compared to 970.

GTX 780ti is best card tho so far even better than gtx980 if you run it at same clock speeds and stuff. It only has 3gb vram so that should be plenty or not`?

Also what do you think how is 970 gonna work in sli with only 256 bit, thats pretty bad to be honest even R9 290 has 512 bit interface.

    Lol.

It's not bigger is better here. Nvidia innovated and managed to shrink their bus sizes whilst maintaining/increasing performance. Using new compression techniques they're able to push more data, faster through a smaller bus so they can downsize. Because of it's smaller size it leaves room for other things. The real question here is how they managed to get it's power consumption so low.

If you're really worried that you will need the last 512mb of the card then get a 980 or something. But I can tell you from my own experience and from how the card will operate that you probably won't really notice it. Besides most of the outrage isn't because the card doesn't perform well, but because people are upset that they aren't getting 100% of what was advertised. Which is true.

Even with it's faults it's still the best price/performance you can get at this exact time, you wan't a better card with some future proofing, get the GTX980. The 290x was a great card about 9 months ago. So I suggest going with that 980 or waiting for the new line of ATI cards.

True, but also costs more, uses more power, has less VRAM, has older bus technology, doesn't have the second generation Maxwell GPU, etc.

The game that seems to be the most intensive one regarding VRAM, that I play, is ArmA 3 and I have not been limited by my GPU at all so far.

Good post thx for that, i will just buy it since theres no other choice anyway lel

I would go for 290x tbh, but the power consumption is just too damn high imho. Im using computer a lot not only for gaming but TV, radio, newspaper and so on. Sometimes its running 24/7 i cant get gpu with 250+ power consumption i already pay enough money thats shit.

With 970 i will even save 35w compared to my gtx560ti i have now, but do you think theres gonna be a price drop soon? Cuz may be i should wait a week with buying until its a bit cheaper. Considering the performance isnt much lower and its already cheap as fuck i dont think its gonna happen tho.

Edit: Which one exactly do you have?

I like my windforce gtx 670. customized the fan speeds and it's dead silent when browsing.
